Indian Tiger Safari

To see the biggest cat in the wild is really pretty spectacular! I recently enjoyed a stunning safari in the jungles of India with the amazing Taj Safaris. Aside from the safari and game drives, I was taken to a local village where I spent some time with a local family in their home learning about an ancient way of life and daily rituals which have not changed for centuries. It was a real privilege and honour! I was spectacularly accomodated in a huge tented suite with a large outside deck overlooking the river. Glamping doesn’t get more luxurious than this. The food , service and setting was sublime and each meal was truly a gastronomic delight! One of my dinners was fireside in the bush - a beautiful surprise. The vegetation and landscape is of course very different to Africa and one feels as if one has stepped into Rudyard Kipling’s “The Jungle Book”. Seeing a mama tiger and her cub in the wild for the first time was one of those “pinch me“ moments! I enjoyed seeing and learning more about the different game on this side of our planet with species such as wild gaur, bison, spotted chittal, and beautiful beautiful bird life. I also loved being woken up with a cup of steaming hot chai and home made cookies brought to my tent. The warmth and kindness of the staff made my tiger safari even more memorable. Definitely a fabulous add-on to an Indian itinerary
