2019 Kenya

I was fortunate to be invited to a travel show as well as to inspect a whole lot of lodges in the Masai Mara as well as Laikipia in central Kenya. I checked out 9 camps in all both in Masai Mara National Park as well as in various conservancies in the Greater Mara. I also had the opportunity to visit the amazing Ol Pejeta sanctuary in the Laikipia region. Ol Pejeta is a non-profit wildlife conservancy in Kenya supporting endangered species, tourism and community outreach. I learned about so many amazing community initiatives and collaborations between camps and the communities which was so inspiring. It was a fruitful trip with over 30 business meetings. I established great connections with many of these camps as well as with safari operators throughout Kenya Tanzania, Uganda and Rwanda. I remain very inspired by this incredible trip and am already planning to take a small group tour to the region in June 2020!
